Retire in Downers Grove
After my wife and I retired, we decided to buy a bigger home in our town of Downers Grove, IL. We put our condo on the market and started looking for a nice house.
My wife wanted something roomy since we have several grandchildren, which we entertain on a regular basis. We also wanted a small yard area that would be relatively low maintenance. The only other thing my wife insisted on was a big kitchen. We were able to find just what we were looking for. A lot of people are under the impression that everything in the suburbs is exactly the same. That’s not necessarily true. There are different neighborhoods, each with their own personality. There are big houses, small houses, condos and apartments. If we hadn’t known exactly what we were looking for, it would have been a tough decision. We looked at so many great places.
