Small City Living Can Be Fun Too
I had lived in a big city all my life. When my company asked me to move
To Downers Grove, IL I didn’t know what to do. I was very happy with my company, but I loved living in a big city. All I knew about Downers Grove at the time was that it was a small suburb around Chicago. I was used to the bright lights, clubs, restaurants and theatres, and I was worried that I wouldn’t be happy with a stereotypical small town lifestyle.
The money my company offered me was too much to turn down, so I packed my bags and moved to Downers Grove. After moving, I was pleasantly surprised at how much Downers Grove had to offer. There may be no Magnificent Mile or Charlie Trotter’s, but it has places and activities that are just as amazing. I came accustomed to the quiet nights and fresh air, now I can’t ever imagine living in a loud and polluted city.
I was able to find restaurants and bars that I liked. I moved into a small one-bedroom condo that would have been a lot more expensive in Chicago. A year after I had been living in Downers Grove, my company asked me if I wanted to go back to the city or stay
